Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life....
Phil 2:14-16a(NIV)
There are a lot of things I love about Mississippi. I love the slower pace, the fact that families still go to the park together, the sweet tea and fried food (a little too much when I first moved here- I put on some serious lbs.), the fact I have a yard now, and I love our neighborhood. I could go on and on but one thing that I noticed the other night when taking out my dog really captured my eye. It was late (about midnight) when I was walking my dog out in the yard and I was captivated by how many stars shined in the sky. In a big city like Miami the city causes a glow that makes it hard to see stars, but in Madison when it is dark it is pitch black! It blew me away that night that I could stand a million miles a way and see a star shining. They can still still impact me, my day, my life a stranger just walking his dog. You and me could be stars. We could add value to the lives of strangers by our actions...just shining through with the Word of Life. Let us not allow clouds of complaining and arguing take away from His light that can change the life of the people around us, watching us....
