“Life is about choices”… that is all my old boss used to say. Life is all about having multiple options and choosing the best one. There used to be this game show on TV back in the day called Let’s Make a Deal. The idea of the show was you made a choice between two prizes. You could either choose a prize that the host had given to you or decide to make a deal and trade for a prize behind one of the three doors on stage. The other prizes were concealed behind the door and you had to blindly make the decision of giving up a sure prize or cash for something that might or might not be better. Sometimes behind the door was a car, other times it could be a year supply of Spam. Watching people make decisions like this makes for some great television. Howie Mandel’s “Deal or No Deal” is another great example of how we loved to be entertained by watching people make big decisions. It is amazing how sitting on the couch in our home we can become so intrigued by the decision making of a total stranger and our emotion become so wrapped up in the results of their decisions. Life is all about choices. The one’s we watch people make on TV are real, even though they are staged, the ones we watch our friends and families make on a daily basis are real, the choices you make are real as well. On a day to day basis the average person makes hundreds of choices. Some are simple (hit the snooze or not), others are more complicated (what class to take, what college to go to, who to date, how to answer a tough question). We are bombarded with so many choices that we can overlook the most important one of all. The most final and eternal decision ever made in life is what you decide about Jesus.

Journal your thoughts about the decision these 4 men made in these verses.
What did they leave behind to follow Jesus?
