Defroster (Gen. 24:15-60)

I wish I could put into just the right words how frustrated I get with my windshield sometimes. Always, at the wrong time, it fogs up making it almost impossible for me to see out of it. It seems like whenever I try to fix the problem by turning on the defroster, I just make it worse. Beth is really good with the defroster though. If she is riding with me, she always knows just the right setting to make the windshield crystal clear. What an amazing feeling it is when my vision goes from blinded in a cloudy haze to being able to see every little thing in front of me with clarity. It gives me confidence when driving and puts me at ease. In my reading this morning I found Abraham's servant on a mission. The mission was to find Issac a wife. With all the women to pick from this could of been a cloudy and hazy decision. When he reached the well of the town the servant prays that his decision would be a clear cut and obvious one by asking God to provide a girl that will give him and his camels something to drink. As soon as he gets done praying God provides a girl who does just as he requested and even more. She not only gives him drink and offers some to his camels she allows him to stay at her families house and have dinner. God answers his prayer exactly and even confirms it by doing above and beyond what the servant asked, making the decision crystal clear. I was encouraged today when I read this text because so many times i see my tasks as cloudy and foggy as my windshield on a cold day. I see that God makes it clear when we ask. When God calls us to something, His desire is for us to obey ...not be confused. Though sometimes God call us to make decisions in the cloud, that isn't His primary means of communication. There are many times when by calling out to Him and just asking for affirmation, He will hit the defrost just right and the answer will be obvious. Father, when things are foggy, instead of leaving me panicking and worrying, please remind me to ask you to make it clear. Help me remember You know how to work the defrost.....
