Roller Coaster

You ever been on a roller coaster? I used to love them but I kind of grew out of them a few years ago. My roller coaster experiences now consist of managing my kids emotional highs and lows while we pass the roller coasters they are not big enough to ride yet and the ones they get to ride a million times in a row. Roller coasters are an attraction because of the constant change, the powerful turns, flips, fast speeds, quick stops. We laugh at one turn, scream at another, smile at the next and then vomit at the end. We as a culture actually pay money to go through the wringer physically and emotionally. Maybe the reason we do it is because we know it is being controlled. That millions have gone before us and made it. That we know we will get off at some point and live to tell about, to brag about it. But what about when life is the roller coaster. When we are being sent through what seems like an upside down spin at 100mph and then thrown into another one before our stomachs and brains have had time to recoup. You ever feel that way. You ever feel like the roller coaster of life is not worth it.......
Remember that life and a roller coaster have a lot in common. Life is controlled, millions have made it through before us, we will get off at some point, and when all is said and done ,through Christ, we will live to tell about it and brag on Him about how He got us through....

The scripture below is the roller coaster of life in action. Let us not forget that He is there for us and is completely able to change the path that seems unchangeable if He so desires.

Luke 8:52-56
Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. "Stop wailing," Jesus said. She is not dead but asleep." They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, "My child, get up!" Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.

You know what is hilarious....THis roller coaster shot is actually from a place I used to go as a kid. Carowinds in Fort Mill S.C. just outside of Charlotte N.C. I used to love them, guess I am getting older. Maybe God will grant me back my love for them when my kids are old enough to ride them like yours are.
