Reign (Psalm 97:1)

It is always morning someplace...There is always a nation rising each hour to enter another day full of problems, issues, injustices, pain and strife. Many rise hungry with only hope of finding food. Many open their eyes only to remain in bed due to illness and disease. Some of us, the "blessed" ones, rise and enter into a day full of luxuries, wealth, education, entertainment, choices from food cuisine to type of gasoline to put into our motorized vehicles that we own...or at least the bank does. Our lives are filled with luxurious distractions. We spend our time commuting, avoiding community and communication, just distracted. Each and every hour the people of the Earth arise yet the multitudes exist in their day without the knowledge of He who controls the sun. The Lord reigns today. Across the world, the universe, the seen and the unseen, the Lord reigns. So why aren't we glad? Why aren't I glad?.... Why are the multitudes spending their lives grasping for the controls of this life and missing out in the gladness of knowing that He who is able is reigning. Why do many days I choose to create my own kingdom in lieu of reigning with Him in the eternal one. God I find myself reading this verse and being challenged in my spirit about how I approach each day. May the moment I open my eyes be the very moment where the truth of this verse penetrates my heart. For you my savior are seated on your throne. You reign, you are in control and I am at rest, I am glad. May my life be marked with the gladness of knowing this truth and knowing you... who is seated on the throne.
