A change going on... (II Chr 33, John 4)

In the passages for today's reading we see two very different people go through enormous change and God use them to spark great change in their communities.

In Chronicles we see the story of a young King of Judah living a life in total isolation and disobedience to his God. Through being taken captive by a Godless enemy Manasseh's heart is turned back to God and through that heart change God delivers him and restores him back to his kingdom. Through his leadership the nation was brought back to worshipping God. (at least for a little while until his son took over.)

In John we see the familiar story of a Samaritan women who through poor choices found herself divorced 5 times and living with a man who wasn't her husband. She was a woman of shame and found herself at the well at a time when she would not have to be confronted by her judgemental neighbors. She instead of finding privacy a water from the well find Jesus, the living water that wells up to eternal life. She goes back to her neighbors and tells them about Jesus and many Samaritans came to believe in Jesus through her testimony.

Two different people, to similar stories. Two live changed forever by God and used to change the lives of others...

God, thanks for continuing to change my life, may you use me to change the hearts and lives of others....
